The Connecterra is practically in the back garden of Maasmechelen Village. Put on your walking shoes and experience for yourself this unique piece of Flanders landscape. A mere 26 years ago the coal mines in Eisden were at peak production but now you can find some of the rarest butterflies in the country. The heaps of shale and gravel excavations have left behind a transformed landscape of ‘hills and lakes’ that really does offer the prettiest panorama in Flanders.
