- Royal Golf Club of Belgium Ravenstein
On the New Course players with at least a 36 handicap can test their technique over nine holes. The Old Course is a beautiful classic course which presents a sporting challenge for players from 20 handicap for men or 24 for women. The fairways meander between various harmoniously integrated tree species. Well-protected greens and some variation in altitude means that every stroke must be precise.
All kinds of tree species from the temperate zones of the world were brought to Belgium when the Geographical Arboretum of Tervuren was laid out in the early 1900s. At the express request of the King these seeds and plants were also used in the construction of the golf course, so that today you play between American silver maples, laurel from Portugal, Canadian poplars, pine species from the Himalayas and China ... and a hickory, whose wood was formerly used - appropriately - to make golf clubs. This luxurious natural beauty on its own makes Ravenstein more than worth a visit!
The clubhouse is located in the old fortified farm dating from the 19th century. You can enjoy a drink in the bar or a delicious menu in the restaurant, all in the atmosphere of times gone by.
